My Utmost for His Highest is a daily devotional by Oswald Chambers (1874-1917) that compiles his Christian preaching to students and soldiers. The book was first published in 1924, later undergoing a revision in the 1990s, and has become a series of Christian devotional journals, calendars, and children's books.

 One of the great barriers for many of us in spending time alone with God is the lack of a flexible, balanced structure to guide us. The Daily Office differs from what we label today as "quiet time or devotions" in that it normally takes place at least twice a day.
The Daily Office when practiced consistently, works to eliminate the division of the sacred and the secular in our lives. The whole day is infused with a deep sense of the sacred; of God's presence.
